Indian Grinding Rock State Park (AKA Chawse)
Indian Grinding Rock State Park offers both family picnic sites and group sites.  
​A shaded ramada near the Indian Grinding Rocks can accommodate up to 150 people.  The museum, early Miwok grinding rocks, and a recreated Indian village make the park a great place for children and adults to learn about the MiWuk culture.  
​The Park's south trail is a self-guided nature loop.   Park Hours: Sunrise to Sunset

Roaring Camp Mining Company
​Once a camp for the Forty Niner miners, but due to inaccessibility, most of the gold still remains.
 It is a favorite family recreation gold mining camp on the Mokelumne River. Visitors can mine their own gold by panning, sluicing, metal detecting, and dry washing.
